Two new sites were added to our inventory: Videoinfografiken.de – which is a blog about video infographics. Video info graphics are visual representations of data and information in videos.

Another blog that we’ve recently added is Druckereien-online.net, which is a comparison site for printing products.

Protecting Content & Combating Blog Spam

We’ve been desperately fighting Spam lately and wanted to share that information with the blogging community. The spam was mostly in the form of comment spam, content scraping and content modification.
Akismet has done a wonderful job for years, but spammers more and more understand on how to circumvent the “standard” plugin.

We’ve installed Defensio.com and simple captcha on some blogs and also had good results with Spam Karma.

But this wasn’t enough:

We wanted to protect content and reputation (content modification), so we installed Copyscape for international bloggers and Reputationobserver.com in the US and the counter part Reputationsverteidiger.de in Europe.

Lastly we made sure that our blogs always update to the latest version. It’s crucial to keep the network going.

That all seemed to combat most of the spam. Hope we could help a bit

Blogspeedway Blog Networks made the decision to help our bloggers analyze their SEO status better: We’ll be partnering with DIYSEO a do-it-yourself SEO software platform.

The reason is quite simple:

We’ve decided to leave it in the hands of our bloggers to make decision on how much they want to SEO their site. According to a review on Seosoftware.net DIYSEO convinced us, b/c of their step by step process. It’s just the easiest an most convenient platform for our purposes.

Where are blogs heading to?

After adding more and more blogs to our network, we here at Blogspeedway noticed that this cannot be all. It’s fun to meet new bloggers and get them to sign on, but we missed the community aspect of Blogspeedway. Within the next 4 weeks, we should have a new Blogspeedway up and running. A new network with more automation, but more interaction between the blogger.

Got to try QWidget for Blog Engagement – and Peering into the Future

Well … we will, here on BlogSpeedway.com, in fact – one of our founders, Marshall Sponder – Webmetricsguru – posted about how QWidget Creates Visitor Engagement – and on our blogs – we’re constantly looking for ways to improve the two way communicaton and, frankly, to better monitize them – which we’re much closer to being able to move forward with that.

One thing you’ll find about Blogspeedway.com – our blogs are not just about telling you something – we’re also about finding out the newest things you don’t yet know about – stuff like QWidget – and bringing that into the conversation.

But in case you’ve missed some recent posts we’ve done that, I think, show the quality of what we’re producing here – check out a post on Social Media for Engagement that got a lot of attention from those into Social Media – it put forth a idea that you must earn engagement – it doesn’t just “happen”.

For example – if your into Web Analytics – and we are – did you know there are 10 Firefox Add-ons for Web Analysts that your really should install? So, we’re clearly thought leaders here – and our bloggers are growing to me more and more, thought leaders in the areas they specialize in.

Sometimes, we look into the future – like when Marshall Sponder wrote about Jobs of the Future – New Economy and who may be playing key roles in it – We took Obama’s recent Saturday speach focusing on the Economy – and figured out what next year is going to look like – read it and learn.

Yep, there’s a lot of good stuff here at Blogspeedway and it’ll continue to get better and better.
