One thing you’ll find about Blogspeedway.com  - our blogs are not just about telling you something - we’re also about finding out the newest things you don’t yet know about - stuff like QWidget - and bringing that into the conversation.

Sometimes, we look into the future - like when Marshall Sponder wrote about Jobs of the Future - New Economy and who may be playing key roles in it - We took Obama’s recent Saturday speach focusing on the Economy - and figured out what next year is going to look like - read it and learn.

Yep, there’s a lot of good stuff here at Blogspeedway and it’ll continue to get better and better.

There’s a few blogs that overlap (this list above, merges two others), but most, don’t .

In this case, I can’t say Kevin Rose would make either list - but maybe there are others who can - any way, here’s Blogger King’s advice to “us”.

We’ve created a methodology to identify influencers - there’s nothing all that new about this, but we’ve added some targeting and filtering of our own and here’s a list of top Web Analytics and Social Media blogs, based a selection of seed keywords.

At some point, we’ll publish our methodology in greater detail, but for now, here’s a spreadsheet you can look at or download that has the influentials, along with additional information about their blogs.

Also, I have met Carmina Perez a few months back at a Blogger Meetup with Charlene Li for the GroundSwell Book (signing).  Here’s what the New York Times has to say about Carmina Perez:

Carmina Perez, 47, began her blog, Mogulettes-in-the-Making, about six months ago after a long career in finance and media. Over the years, she had taken a few stabs at starting various businesses, but she always returned to the security of a job.

When her last job came to an end in May 2006, she decided to get serious about entrepreneurship. But this time it would be different. She now had a considerable financial cushion so she could support herself while building a business.

In the past, Ms. Perez always started businesses on her own, and the isolation was part of the reason she never went far. Blogging seemed like the way to create an instant community of support.

Mogulettes-in-the-Making, the blog, is about helping other women build their businesses, the very business Ms. Perez is in the midst of building. Typical posts document meetings where she brings in an expert to teach her “mogulettes” something, like this post about a session on computer security, a lecture she organized with a guest speaker about public relations or a field trip to the Science, Industry and Business Library in New York City, which offers reference resources and free sessions with business counselors for entrepreneurs.

Though the blog has only about 300 page views a month, Ms. Perez has developed a small following among women who look to her for advice.

We’ve been tapping into that large “oil well” of pure creative petro and finding that as we put the message out, more and more people want to join us.

And now, I want to share a personal story, my story, and how Blogging got me on an airplane right now heading to an exclusive Board Retreat.

A few years ago, before I started to blog, I was doing web analytics and search analytics for IBM, but my job then did not include any travel and I was almost invisible in IBM’s complex hierarchy. I did a lot of tedious reporting and developed insights, but I had no channel to funnel my creativity into such that it would be recognized by my superiors and peers.

Then a curious thing happened, I got an opportunity to blog for a blog network and within 6 months, I was considered a “Thought Leader” in web analytics and my blog, webmetricsguru.com, was and is considered an “industry blog” and has even been deemed forward looking by several industry insiders.

Through blogging I became visible to other influentials in related fields and was asked to run for a seat on The Board Of Directors of the Web Analytics Association, whose exclusive retreat I am in route to at this very moment, somewhere outside Boston.

My job at IBM didn’t immedately change much, but I found many doors suddenly opening to me, doors that hat be shut and locked before. I covered many conferences as Press at first and over the last year, I have been asked to speak often.

Eventually, I outgrew my IBM joband moved to a much better postion in another company, but my blogging and Board role, paved the way.

I’m fact, the most important thing I got out of blogging was the reputation and respect that I earned through my hard work, heartfelt writing and frequent posts.

Now, what does my story have to do with you, he or she reading my post right now? Give me a moment to tell you a story, first.

A friend of mine works as a web behavioral analyst for a large advertising company, often she works 14 hours a day, isn’t paid very well, travel is almost never offered, training is almost never provided. Sometimes she works weekends and still, her contrabution to her company is largely unrecognized on any tangible way and her job could be on the cutting block now or soon. I’m no way is this kind of exploitation rewarded or deserved.

But often, there’s no way out, no way a company provides to move from being perceived one way vs a better way.

Do you have a story with any similarities to the one I just described? I bet you do.
